Supposedly, according to Gamestop, within 1 business day, although some other posts I have come across seem less optimistic (maybe they're just trolls...)
Either way, I put in a pre-order, if I don't get my beta key before too long I might cancel, I might not... I'm more of a digital download fella anyway...

i bet they had people there with MBA's from good schools running financial what if's and telling management to avoid digital because they will make less money due to not selling the film or anything other than the camera

5 years ago Apple was pushing open standards with no licensing require (ie, zeroconf) and no one would buy in. Now they offer a standard with a fraction of the capability and charge for it and everyone wants it.
There's a world of difference between extending basic Internet protocols and making a method for streaming videos to set-top devices that actually just works.
The former *has* to be open and license-free to gain any level of traction or standardization, and Apple has done a good job with it -- the drafts for mDNS and DNS-SD (which combine to make Bonjour) are both still active and standards-tracked at IETF. Expect them to become full RFC internet standards before long.
The latter generally means selling a chip (or licensing its design) to other manufacturers. There's both the expectation that this is how things are done, and likely a legal need to charge for it to cover patent licensing fees.

i dont know if it was posted yet but god please put out an iphone with a physical keyboard.
IMHO, adding a physical keyboard will most likely add thickness to the iPhone device & that goes against what Apple are doing. I could be wrong but it seems that one of Apple's main design focus has been to get thinner & thinner with each new revision of the product line. Therefore, I think that Apple will "unfortunately" not be adding a physical keyboard to the iPhone design anytime in the near future. :o

I agree. When I'm holding my iPod horizontally, I usually always rest my thumb over home button.
And speaking as someone that used an EVO4G (lapse of judgement :P) with capacitance buttons, its not a fun experience... Way too easy to accidentally hit them. Plus, you need that home button for all the resetting and jailbreaking ;)

Wow! great deal. All out of the 16gb at my local store. Congrats to those that got one. For those lucky buyers, $300 over a two year useful life is about 40 cents per day, or one quarter of the cost of the cheapest cup of starbucks coffee. Not bad for a device that you will probably use about an hour a day.....or maybe more.

Does anyone know if Target is price matching or is expected to be following suit with their own reduced prices? I have a hefty credit with Target that I would very much enjoy using on purchasing the original ipad at the new verizon price.
I dont think so. Working at Target the policy is that it has to be a print ad, and not a copy of an internet sale. Below is the policy from the website.
"If you find an item in a competitor's printed ad that is priced lower than it is at your Target store, we will match the price. The competitor's ad must be local and current, and the product must be the identical item, brand name, quantity and model number. Target.com is excluded from our price matching policy. Competitor catalogs can also be ad matched as long as the catalog displays a valid date and meets all other qualifications."
"Please show us the entire printed advertisement. Photos, photocopies, or mobile phone versions of the ad cannot be accepted as verification of competitive pricing."
Believe me I wish they would, with my normal 10% discount and an additional 5% for using the Target Debit card, I would be one happy camper.

regarding tariffs: the problem isn't the important goods for the US: it's the lack of exporting goods
also a lot of the US car industry themselves is also heavily dependant on imported supplies as it can been seen since the japanese tsunami: quite a few of US brands had to stop some production lines (additionally to the japanese brands)

Wow this is big! I'm not sure but hasn't it been like forever since Mac had 5% marketshare? Over 5% must put them in the top 5 pc makers? Maybe top 3? This is already huge growth, if they get to 10% or more look out!
The jerks who make viruses for windows will take the time to make them for Mac which would suck:mad:

We wouldn't use them for killing. Quite the contrary. As an Intelligence Analyst I can say that I would love to have a Mac based system for all of our mapping/communication/networking needs. We wouldn't even need a "tough book" like computer, since most of my work is done out of a tent or a building. A rubber casing or strip could easily seal the ports. I have been wanting to incorporate my MBP into my work more and more.
+1 for mapping. When I worked at a Joint Reserve Intelligence Center (JRIC) the intel guys that deal with imagery (sorry I don't know the term) used Macs with 30 inch ACD's.

I think the iPhone 4's screen is too small and has not increased in size physically since the original iphone launch almost 4 years ago. It's time for a screen size increase, either equivalent to or slightly smaller than HTC's 4.3" behemoth. Apple should go S-Amoled with IPS or OLED which requires no backlight and therefore extends battery life.

I don't know it could be possible. I know there are a lot more GSM fans on this message board, but that is one advantage of the CDMA network. It is much more secure when it comes to things like hacking. I do believe the newer WCDMA 3G (UMTS) is secure as well, but if you can throw in noise to bump the network back to 2G EDGE then it appears you can hack in without any issues.

I hope they use the USB flash drive option (like they do with the MacBook Air); then enable some way where we can update the OS install on the flash drive with newer 10.7.x releases, so down the road when we reinstall our machines we don't need to go through the process of having to redownload every update since our install version.
Plus the USB drive option would work well with folks have don't have an optical drive in their machines.

Huh, my push notifications weren't working, so I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I went to the settings and I'm apparently running Facebook 3.1.1, but when I go to iTunes, it says the app is at 3.1 and I have no updates.

Where is the best place to sell a 64GB iPad non-3G? I tried eBay and twice now someone did buy it now and couldn't pay right away... It's very very lightly used all I'm trying to do is get what I paid for it, any recommendations would be a huge help... I tried Mac forums as well, is there a new site everyone's using nowadays?
Local craigslist (http://craigslist.org)? Ebay is getting terrible to sell on in my opinion because you have to pay them something like 9% now when you sell an item. With craigslist you meet them in person to guarantee they pay or they do not get the item.

Check the DNS settings in network setup in your computers, and in your router/modem. See what you have. Your ISP should have servers they recommend, try them. Or you can search the internet for other DNS servers, try some public ones out, like the aforementioned Google.
If they are set fine in your router/modem, you can set your computers to nothing or to the IP of your router, which is usually something like 192.168.0.1.
I've seen computers (or modems) that end up with half a dozen DNS servers listed, maybe not even typed in properly, and it would sit and wait with a blank page for 5 seconds before loading any webpage. Cleaning up DNS with a good server usually drops that wait time.
I also once had a similar problem to Popeye's, where I couldn't go to certain websites. I can't remember specifics, I think I replaced my Qwest DNS with Verizon's or something and it cleaned that up. That was many years ago, it's a little foggy.
