That's some good initiative, maybe next time he can do it without stolen goods and earn back the money he's going to lose from the impending court case.

This seems to be the demo title - is that because it's mearly a 3D version of Pilot Wings 64?
Seems to be the same as the N64 version when I was doing Free Flight on the Island.
Want to see what Starfox is like, though I heard it's also the same as the N64...
It's actually more of an extended version of the Wii Resort's flight game. Same exact island. Everything looks and feels the same.
The 3DS feels like a portable Wii.
I liked Star Fox 64, but I nope it's a new game.

This was a real eye opener for me.
Fine, lets just assume that a 800mhz imac and a 1.8gigahertz dell are similar in performance, equiptment and cost... this thread is about speed. i realize the differences in the two chips, and i agree largely with apple that frequency isnt everything.. that aside, intel is still kicking motorola's ass (for the time being).
the g4 cannot beat the p4 in performance, so you drag cost ratios in to muddy up the water.. why? the p4 beats the g4. if you want an imac fine, buy it. but dont confuse yourself by saying 'the g4 is just as fast as the p4...' because its not. :)
we're all mac lovers here, and a lot of the pc equivalent software to iapps is total crap! ill agree with you there. you get a LOT of high quality software within the max os. (xp doesnt even include a dvd playing app does it?)
the imac is pretty, its more pleasant to use, and it might bench equivalently.. but like i said, toe to toe... the p4 comes out swining at 2.8gigahertz, the g4 is having a hardtime beating that.

And your point is? There really isn't a need for 64bit cpu's let alone OS's for most consumers. AMD is essentially responsible for putting the pressure on the industry to move toward 64bit as soon as it is.
For consumers a 64bit cpu and OS is nothing more than bragging rights...at least for a few years.

Apple could easily make a rack server that had 16 processors, with a kick arse OpenGL card and teach SGI a lesson. They don't have the market for that though...yet!

I'm not sure where you get your info but keep dreaming. You fail to mention what cpu's they would use. I don't think your going to see current G4's in 16 processor servers ever. It's just not designed to do it. That's not to say it cannot be done...just that it would be a waste of manpower and money to do it and not be very efficient at it no matter the market.

They've already asked their developers to change app resolutions once. 3 screen sizes will never fly with developers.
Just get it over with and allow variable screen sizes.

The iOS has some good games, but older games made for joystick/buttons/paddles don't quite cut it. I can't imagine Tempest with at least buttons (though the knob is ideal).
I like TRON and the game for the DS you have to use the touchscreen for some of the battles. The Tank and Disc battles the stylus/finger gets in the way of the playing screen.
The PSP version you just use the buttons, keeping the screen clear for viewing.
I think Sony's design of a rear touchpad on the new PSP will be the answer to a lot of "mobile touch gaming".
Yeah, the touchscreen isn't there for most established games, but for the games that can take advantage of it and don't rely on twitch movement, games that are more casual in nature, it's a very cool way to play, like World of Goo.
That PSP opens lots of options, like a real pointer. =O

Best Buy had their 3DS kiosk setup today.
It's pretty cool...
Pilot Wings was running on it - it essentially adds depth to the titles. You can turn the 3D off if you want - the graphics and screen still look great!
It was a bit hard to play as it was down low for kids to play with as well...
Gonna wait to see what Black Friday sales there are (want to pick up Starfox with it) - it's going to be a pretty hot item this holiday season... ;)

I'm sorry, but no they weren't. People have very short memories and they forgot that the Conservatives really have a much more extreme right view on things. All they remember is what has been going on during these minority Conservative governments, which was a very muted version of what the Conservatives are all about/aboot. You weren't living in Canada prior to their first minority government (IIRC, you moved there sometime last year), so I don't really think you can have a true feel for what was going on back then. Reading stuff online now doesn't really give you a sense for what was up back then either. I was living there during that time, and I remember.
The Conservatives decided to tone down their platform in order to gain power. This was their strategy (and IMO, not a very honest one). They maintained that toned down platform during their minority governments because they knew full well that if they attempted to make and major policy changes, the government would fall. They were very patient, and they were waiting for this: a majority government so that they could do what they want.
All of the small businesses? Every single one? Did you go around and poll them? Did they all mark their door-frames in blood or something? Surely some (or even one) of them voted Liberal/PC/NDP/Green. Toronto isn't much of a Conservative stronghold.......

Blue= Conservative
Red= Liberal
Orange= NDP
(obviously, these are the colors of the winners. It doesn't mean that every single person in each riding voted for the winning party)
I said all the small businesses I knew. As in personally frequent/know the owners. Prices and taxes are already high enough, the last thing I want to see is a 5 percent hike on corps who are going to simply shrug the cost down the line. The revenue obtained just isn't worth the impact it would have on the economy. I think there is a general sense of belt tightening due to the recession, and that is what many of the conservatives are promising (save a few fighter jets).
Many of the voters in my area (older portuguese/Italians) are just looking to pad their wallets and go with whatever candidate promises them more candy. In fact there are quite a few people on government pension who have never worked a day in their life, why not get more free money?

Federal Agency Will Review a Kodak Patent Claim.
A federal agency has decided to review Eastman Kodaks patent claim against Apple and Research In Motion. The International Trade Commission said Friday it would look at a judges finding in January that Apples iPhone and RIMs BlackBerry do not violate a 2001 Kodak image-preview patent. The favorable decision revives Kodaks hopes of negotiating royalties worth $1 billion or more. The agencys six commissioners will decide by May 23 whether to alter the initial determination by its chief administrative judge or let it stand.

The line was pretty mad, but it seemed to move rather quickly once the doors were opened at 6pm. My hat is off to those who in the queue who had a word with the queue cutters as well as the Apple staff. (Dear queue cutters get with the program, or go back to your friends at Microsoft.)
I was amazed at the number of people in the queue that didn't buy Leopard. LOL... was the lame free t-shirt really worth your time in the queue?
I was a bit embarrassed by all the hot women who asked us what we were queuing up for. Oops, was I really standing in a queue for 2 hours on a Friday night. Hell ya! I saw the ladies later with a big box in my pocket.
Apple you get poor marks for selling Leopard right by entrance door and free t-shirts. It was rather disorganized. (Lets hope you learn for next month's iPhone event.) Upstairs seemed like it could use a few more rows of seats.
I got the new OS. A belly full of sushi. A bloodstream full of alcohol. And, a much lighter wallet. Fun times. I love London!
